If the print is more yellow looking, that is due to the Mitsumata paper texture.

Records indicate that Mitsumata was used in paper making as early as 614, known for its use by the Japanese government because of it's fine fibers and insect repelling qualities.

Cultivation began 200 years ago in Japan, blooming every spring. Mitsumata has the shortest fiber (out of Kozo & Gampi) and yields smooth, dense papers great for parchment like papers.

What is Chine collé technique ?

One of the commonly used includes dampening the thin paper, placing it on the inked plate. The key here – and this is what makes collé different from collage – is that it is then run through a printing press where the pressure of the press adheres and bonds the collé paper to the print. Van Malleghem’s print are hand made by Eric Levert in his Amsterdam’s workshop
